Gio' Pomodoro at Viareggio Répaci Prize 2022

Gradina gallery exhibit Gio' Pomodoro masterpiece "Folla" (1962) at Viareggio Répaci Prize 2021, one of the most ancient and prestigious literature Prize in Italy. Over the years, the prize has been won by Umberto Saba, Elsa Morante, Italo Calvino, Natalia Ginzburg, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Salvatore Quasimodo, Alberto Moravia and Alda Merini.


The ceremony took place in the Port of Viareggio, the world yachting industry capital, where the vibrant surface of the sculpture met the movement of the sea under the sunset light.


During the ceremony, at the presence of local institutions, the mayor Mr. Giorgio Del Ghingaro welcomed on the stage the Oscar Prize Roberto Benigni who stated "Viareggio means joy and beauty to me".
